Acetal Rod is an excellent material which has become very popular due to its outstanding machining abilities as well as its food contact compatibility and very low moisture absorption.

Acetal Rod is particularly popular with engineers using high speed CNC machines, this is because Acetal will chip during machining which prevents swarf wrapping around the machine tool and affecting performance as would happen with other similar materials. Acetal also has an excellent surface finish once it is machined, although correct tool shapes must be used and also with the correct combination of equipment, can be polished to provide a very smooth high quality surface finish.

Acetal Rod is sometimes mistaken for Nylon as it can often look very similar but this material does have advantages which these other materials are unable to offer.
